OOTD - Fall Time

Sunday, November 22, 2015

It has been a LONG time since I did an OOTD for you. I had the pleasure of collaborating with two amazing people.

Eunice from StyleStickyNotes is an edgy fashion blogger who knows how to dress with amazing style. Jon from JOPANG VISUALS has a creative eye in photography and I can't thank him enough for taking the time and shooting this OOTD. Please do check out their respective sites!

Sadly there are no more leaves on the trees now. This shoot was done at the perfect time when the leaves were on fire with reds, yellows, and oranges. Both Eunice and I each styled a fall outfit... and the least to say they are both very different!

If I had to choose two words to describe my style, it would be classic and simple. Gingham and fur are two textiles that I associate to the fall season, so why not combine both into one outfit? Sometimes a full gingham-patterned shirt may be a lot to see so the fur vest brings warmth and softens the overall look.
Fall is also the call for the booties to come out. These taupe booties are comfortable to wear and the neutral taupe colour pairs well.
I wanted to wear some gold accessories to bring some shine and brightness to the outfit. The flow of gold starts from the gold rings and bangle, to the hardware on the purse, to the zippers on the booties.
Of course you'll also likely see me with a Starbucks in hand on a fall day (my favourite fall drink from Starbucks is revealed on my Fall Favourites post here!).

Gingham Shirt - H&M
Fur Vest - Forever 21

Here is Eunice's fall outfit!

Some days I just want to be lazy and not be fancy but still look stylish. I know… you may think that it’s probably pretty contradictory to want to just throw on clothes but still care about how it looks. Maybe it’s just the fashionista in me but I CAN’T leave the house looking like a “slob”. Sweats are definitely not something I own. I think the only pair I ever owned wear just to show school spirit. “WATERLOO represent!!!”
In all seriousness, my version of a lazy day is really just t-shirt and skinnies. However to keep the stylish spunk I would make sure my pieces are still unique and not B-O-R-I-N-G. Here I’ve paired my super unique scalloped hem basic white tee that is also cropped with my leather skinnies. Two definitely unique pieces that still showcase my edgy self. To continue the leather detail and elongate my legs, I wore my black leather booties.
Since just white and black can be a tad boring, I draped my fall essential blanket scarf over just to twirl around in the fall breeze and also to add some colour and pattern. In this colder Canadian weather I would definitely wear a jacket over this (I mean it is SUPER cold now, but we took these pics in warmer weather). If you want you can even top it off with a floppy hat or a beanie, whatever floats your boat. For even more spunk you can add some necklaces or other accessories to make this OOTD even more stylish, but I guess it depends how lazy you actually are.

White Scalloped Tee - Topshop
Leather Skinnies - H&M
Green & Blue Checked Scarf - Smart Set
Layered Necklace - Express
Black Leather Booties - Shoemint

I am happy to say that there will be more OOTD posts in the future because I have awesome people to work with! What's your favourite fall outfits?

Until next time, Des
