Empties No. 4

Wednesday, July 29, 2015

I have a bag dedicated to the empties that I finish and it is almost filled to the brim now! Feel free to scroll through and read about the products that you're curious about.

Bath & Body Works Carried Away Triple Moisture Body Cream

This is my favourite scent from B&BW! This was the lotion that was showcased in my favourite scents post here. The lotion itself was very hydrating and it definitely did a job well done moisturizing my dry legs and arms.

Clean & Clear Morning Burst Fruit Infusions Purifying Cleanser

I like to use this cleanser whenever I feel like having a burst of citrus goodness in the shower. It works well even with sensitive, acne-prone skin like mine. Not only does it cleanse, but it has a mini-function of exfoliation as well with the strawberry seeds that are suspended in the cleanser. The seeds are not too abrasive so the cleanser can be used daily.

Bath & Body Works Butterfly Flower Body Lotion

This lotion is less thick in consistency than the body cream mentioned earlier and I found that it didn't moisturize my body as well as the body cream. This was also the most floral of scents that I've ever used in any product. I'm not the biggest lover of floral scents, sometimes I find that it can be too overwhelming. This lotion had a pleasant, not too overpowering floral scent and I enjoyed it while it lasted.

Rimmel Just Let it Go Gentle Eye Makeup Remover

This was a disappointing product. It says it can remove waterproof makeup but it did a poor job getting all my waterproof eyeliner and mascara off my lids and lashes. I have found a much better drugstore eye makeup remover so good riddance to this one.

The Body Shop Mango Shower Gel

I got this as a part of a shower gift box from The Body Shop. All the products were mango scented and it smelled GOOD. A must for me with shower gels and body washes is that it needs to lather up well with my loofah, and this did exactly that. It's like having a bubble bath without having to sit in water haha.

Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner

This was the very first liquid liner I owned but I've moved up to better ones haha. This liquid liner was... meh. It isn't as pigmented as other liners on the market and it seemed to be too watery. I always had to go over the liner on my eyelids again so that it would be dark and black enough. It had a felt tip so after a period of time it would go out of shape. I haven't found a drugstore liquid liner that works as well as the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner or the Kat von D Tattoo Liner so if you have any recommendations, let me know!

Clinique Mild Liquid Facial Soap

This was a travel-sized product that was part of a Clinique giftbag when I purchased a Clinique moisturizing cream a while back. I used this whenever I was travelling or staying over at someplace. It does it's function of a cleanser but it smells strongly of plain soap. It does leave a squeaky-clean feeling on your skin so don't forget to moisturize right after.

Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief Gel

I liked this moisturizer! This is the second one of this that I've finished. It doesn't have SPF in it so I used this as a night time moisturizer. The gel finish prevented my pores from being clogged since I have more oily skin in the summer. My skin soaks it up fast and the gel dries quickly, leaving my face soft and velvety to the touch. In the winter I find that I need something a little bit heavier to prevent dry patches from forming but this is perfect for the summer.

Clinique All About Eyes Rich

Contrary to the rest of my face, my undereyes are more on the dry side. If I don't choose an eye cream that is rich enough, any makeup over my undereye area will crease easily. This eye cream was average, it did the job but I wasn't in love with it. It helped reduce my dark undereye circles and puffiness but after I while I found that the effect it has on the undereyes weren't as great as when I first started using it. I've switched to a different eye cream now and it has been great (currently using Ren Vita Mineral Active 7 Eye Gel).

Maybelline The Rocket Mascara

This is by far the best mascara I've ever used. The Maybelline Falsies also worked well for me but I think this has blown all other mascaras out of the water. The waterproof formula helps the mascara stay tight on my lashes and it doesn't budge. It holds a curl really well even with my short lashes. My lashes look fuller and more voluminous... it does everything I need it to do for my lashes! I will definitely be buying this again after I finish the other mascaras I already have.

Alcon Total One Water Gradient One Day Contact Lenses

Before this summer I've never worn contact lenses. I started wearing it so that it could improve my depth perception in sports and also so I have prior experience with contact lenses as I learn about it in school. I will do a future post on these contact lenses, but I gotta say that for a first-time user, it makes me feel very comfortable wearing them because I don't feel them on my eyes at all! It feels like I'm not wearing anything. This is the first water gradient lens on the market. Its ability to have a water coat surrounding the lens is what gives the lenses superior comfort. My eyes don't feel dried out or tired by the end of the day so I don't have to worry about bringing my glasses around if I'm out all day.

That was a lot of stuff, but more stuff finished means more new stuff to try. :)

Until next time, Des
