Summer Wedding Makeup Look

Friday, July 26, 2019

Hi everyone! It has been a while since I did a makeup post, but today I wanted to share the look that I did for an outdoor summer wedding, using some new products from Almay! I’ve only tried a mascara from the brand prior to this, so thank you Almay for gifting me some new products to try.

The wedding ceremony was outdoors so I wanted to make sure that my makeup is long lasting and doesn’t slip out of place. I definitely needed enough coverage as well since I had a few spots on my face. The base I used is the Motives Custom Blend Foundation. I discovered this foundation through Khrystyne, a Certified Custom Colour Specialist working for Femme Theory x Motives (find her on Instagram @kchezelle). I met with her and went through a consultation to customize the foundation with the best shade, preferred texture, finish, coverage and skincare preference... so truly this is the most optimized foundation for me! What’s also amazing is that she can custom blend the same bottle of foundation so that it will match my skin tone in the summer/winter, whenever it changes! The finish I chose is very natural, not particularly dewy or matte. I used my fingers to blend the foundation in and applied the Charlotte Tilbury Genius Magic Powder to the T-zone of my face to set those oily areas.

For my eyes, I tried the new Almay Velvet Foil Cream Shadow in the shade 010 End Game*... and it is indeed a game changer! I cannot express how amazed I am at the longevity of this cream shadow! I did a swatch on my hand and tried to rub it off under running water and with soap... it did not smear or fade at all. I had to use my waterproof makeup remover in order to remove it. The colour was very pretty and neutral for everyday or occasion wear. This comes in 12 other shades in both bold and subtle colours.

I also tried the Almay Liquid Lash Extenders Mascara*. I personally like to have volume added to my lashes, so this wasn't the right mascara for me. However, if you like a very natural and lengthening lash look then give this a go! I know I didn't get to use the other products that Almay sent me, but if you're interested and want to know how they are, let me know and I can test them out for you!

The other products I used:
- First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer
- Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Sand
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Propencil Eyeshadow Primer & Colour Corrector
- Kat von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper
- Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Paaarty
- Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder
- Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna
- Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipstick in 244

All of these worked very well together! My makeup was still intact even by the end of a warm summer day outside. You can find Almay products at Shoppers Drug Mart and Walmart.

What's one makeup product that you cannot live without for the hot summer weather?

*PR samples were sent for editorial consideration. All thoughts and opinions are my own and genuine.
