What I Eat In a Day

Hello! I realize that an important way to prevent yourself from getting sick or easily tired is eating well. We're also living away from parents now so C and I need to figure out our meals ourselves.

Follow along to see what I ate in a day!

Breakfast

I admit that I usually don't eat breakfast, but something I definitely do have is my cup of caffeine, whether it's some sort of tea or coffee. My absolute favourite coffee to brew at home in our Bodum French Press is actually from Ikea, their Patar Dark Roast. I take it with two creams and that already wakes me up for the day.

If I do actually eat breakfast, C's pancakes are something I would want to have each day. The other day he surprised me and made it for me to have when I woke up. Simple buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup! The President's Choice Buttermilk Pancake Mix will always be in our pantry ready to make.

Lunch

For lunches I usually cook something very simple and fast, or I cook a batch of something and split it up over multiple days. Lately I've been eating this basil pesto pasta with black beans and tomatoes! The black beans are a healthy alternative to meat and it doesn't require any cooking which saves a lot of time. We've made this several times already (if you want the recipe, let me know!). For the rest of the day I try to only drink water instead of juice or pop.

Snack

I try not to eat in huge portions during lunch and dinner. Instead I eat smaller portions and have snacks throughout the day. I was recently sent the Nature's Touch Frozen Grapes* to try. It's definitely a healthier snack than chips or cookies. Since it's frozen, I don't have to worry about it expiring so soon. Nature's Touch is a Canadian brand founded by John Tentomas, who travelled the world several times in order to find the best in suppliers and quality. It's reassuring to know that what I'm consuming is of the best ingredients out there. Nature's Touch also has many other frozen fruit and vegetable products, such as frozen avocado chunks (whaaat I can make my avocado toast with that!), frozen mangoes, and frozen mixed berries! I can find Nature's Touch at Costco which is very convenient for me. I find that snacking on these when they're still fully frozen is the best, and I let it melt in my mouth a bit if needed haha.

Dinner

C is 100% a better cook than me, and surprisingly the "lazy chicken" (as he calls it) that he makes most of the time is one of my favourite meals by him. So easy but delicious! We both love brussel sprouts so it's a veggie we eat often, along with mash potatoes.

I love reading these posts from others because it gives me inspiration on what I can make and eat for myself too! Let me know what you eat in a day!
