Lipstick Queen Chess Collection "Rook"

I'm new to the brand Lipstick Queen, but after having tried one of their lipsticks... I'm hooked! It's name is a good representation of it. I enjoy using a variety of lip products but once I find one that I LOVE, it's a repurchase and will stay in my "favourites" collection. This definitely made it in.

This Lipstick Queen lipstick is part of the soon-to-be released Lipstick Chess Collection, which is a take on modern must-have lip colours that are dark or nude. Classic colours like a classic game of chess. There are six shades and each lipstick is named after a chess piece: King, Queen, Rook, Bishop, Knight, and Pawn. I have the one called Rook*. It is enriched with natural waxes, oils, and Vitamin E, making it very comfortable to wear and smooth to apply.

Where to buy: Murale

Cost: $32

Packaging: Each lipstick comes in its paper box that shows the chess piece it's named after, making it very easy to differentiate. The lipstick is held in another layer of cardboard inside. The bullet itself is encased in a metal tin shell.

Product: The lipstick applies very creamy and smooth. It's rich in colour and applies opaque, not sheer at all. It's a matte, almost suede-like finish that doesn't dry out the lips and it's super comfortable to wear! I barely notice it throughout the day. It does transfer like most regular lipsticks so it doesn't have the staying power like a matte liquid lipstick. However, Rook* is described to be a deep plum but the colour doesn't reflect the purple tones that you think the plum colour would have. I see it more as a burgundy? Regardless, I love the colour and it's very flattering on me.

The collection will be available to purchase in February 2017. These lipsticks would be on the higher end in terms of price, but if you're someone who enjoys wearing lip products and would like to invest in quality pieces, then I would recommend Lipstick Queen for you to check out, especially this particular collection! The colour range is fantastic, and honestly I would wear every single shade because of how versatile yet classic they are. You can't go wrong with any of them. I think I may pick up the Pawn lipstick once it's out in stores!

Here is my look with the lipstick:
