Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation

This was a foundation that I fell in love with right away, even while I was swatching it at Sephora. I'm definitely going to use this in my upcoming holiday parties!

Where to buy: Sephora or Tarte website

Cost: $47

Packaging: The foundation is in a matte glass bottle and the cap holds the dropper.

Product: The foundation needs to be shaken up first so that all components can mix together since it's a water-based foundation (oil-free). The fluid itself is more watery in consistency like how the name describes it, but because of that it feels so light on the skin compared to other medium coverage foundations. This foundation has 12 different shades and I was able to find one that was a pretty good match for me. I use the shade Light Sand.

When the foundation is first applied, it dries down matte. As the day progresses, I find that the foundation starts developing a nice glow. Not an oily look, but the matte finish wears off slightly and becomes a flattering dewy look. It lasts me a whole day, about 10 hours of wear. The foundation is awesome for people with oily or combination skin. On dry skin it may cling to dry patches.

Here's a makeup look with the foundation. I got to add in that another awesome product from Tarte is their Amazonian Clay blushes!

I was testing the foundation out when my face had a party of its own with the breakouts. Hmph.

On my face:
- Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation (Light Sand)
- Makeup Forever Full Cover Extreme Camouflage Cream (the tube doesn't say which shade so I don't remember, sorry!)
- Maybelline Fit Me Concealer (Sand)
- Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
- FaceShop Style My Eyebrow Pencil (Black Brown)
- Urban Decay Naked Palette
- Kat-von-D Tattoo Liner (Trooper)
- Covergirl Supersizer Waterproof Mascara
- Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush (Exposed)
- Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick (#14)

Overall I really like this foundation! It has become my first choice of foundation to use over the others in my collection because it works so well with my skin. It doesn't feel heavy and it doesn't accentuate my pores. It's so important to find the right products for you so don't be afraid to ask for samples at Sephora!

Until next time, Des

  2. That foundation looks so great on you, especially the shade match! I will have to keep an eye out for that Rimmel Kate lipstick at the drugstore because it is a beautiful nude!
