Brand Focus: G.M. Collin Skincare #madeincanada

Friday, April 22, 2016

I am back! I finished my last school exam of life today and it feels so good to be free! At the same time I also feel very productive to get back on track with the blog so I don't leave you all hanging!

Today I'm focusinh on a Canadian skincare brand: G.M. Collin. The brand was founded in France and its French roots made its way to Montreal where all their innovative skincare is now produced and packaged. The company produces quality products that combine new technologies with the brilliance of nature for both men and women. I love discovering brands that are otherwise masked by the bigshots in the industry (basically those that are sold in the usual places such as Sephora or Hudson's Bay) because it gives me an opportunity to try products that may do just as well or better for my skin. My exposure to other brands also enables me to share them with you too. :)

*All products were sent for consideration. Everything written is my own opinion.

As I mentioned before, my skin type is oily and acne-prone. After consulting with a representative of G.M. Collin about my skin, I received these 3 products to try and review.

G.M. Collin Essentials Oil Complex

First off, I really like the packaging of this with the matte glass bottle. This complex that contains essentials oils is meant to calm, sooth, and improve acne skin. Using a facial oil or products with oils doesn't make your oily skin more oily, rather it helps tone down the oil production if the correct product for your skin is used. This works great for me. I didn't use this all over my face, but more so the areas with acne and my T-zone where I get the most greasy. Once the complex is absorbed, my skin feels matte and smooth. It helps my skin not get oily as fast, but at the end of a long day I would still be a slight greaseball again. It still does a great job though,  especially under makeup. It helps it stay put longer.

G.M. Collin Deep Cleansing Solution

This solution is meant to clear the pores and remove impurities from the skin. I'm not the biggest fan of this product. For my skin, it feels like it does the job like any other cleanser. It also indicates to use this on damp, cleansed skin which I find is a little too much washing for my skin. I find it a slight hassle to double cleanse my skin in order to use this properly.  This cleansing solution would be great for someone who wants a truly deep cleaning of the skin, for someone who uses more make-up on the daily to help clean off all of it, or someone who already has an established routine of double cleansing.

G.M. Collin Bota-Peptide Eye Contour

This eye cream is my favourite of the bunch. The packaging is again exceptional as it comes with a pump so it's also overall more hygienic. For the cream, the texture is lovely! It's as light as a gel but still applies richly on the undereyes. I've been using the eye cream for the past few weeks. I noticed that my undereyes are not as puffy as before and the constant dark circles have slightly faded. This will be a repurchase for me!

You can find G.M. Collin products at authorized spas or you can order over the phone. The information is all on their website here. These products would be an awesome gift for the mothers too! My mom has already picked out the eye cream haha.

Until next time, Des
